What Do Youth Think?

Carlo Acutis

Blessed Carlo Acutis was a teenager who loved the Eucharist. He received his First Communion at the age of seven and since then he made the effort to pray before the Tabernacle prior or after Mass. He was a frequent communicant who always longed to attend the daily Mass. Carlo also made weekly confessions. He knew that he needed to be prepared to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.

Carlo Acutis  was educated in Milan at the Jesuit Instituto Leone XIII High School. He always demonstrated empathy to friends that were experiencing life difficulties, such as family issues, illness or bully. Carlo voluntarily worked to help homeless and destitute persons. His inspiration was the Saints of the Church, especially St, Francis, Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, St. Dominic and St. Bernadette.

Due to Carlo great love for the Eucharist, he created a website for documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world and cataloguing them onto a website, which he created before his death on October 12, 2006. He was known for his cheerfulness, computer skills, and deep devotion to the Eucharist, a core theme of his life. He was beatified on October 10, 2020 and his feast day is October 12.

The miracle that advanced Carlo Acutis beatification cause occurred in Brazil. A young boy, named Mattheus who suffered from annular pancreas, a severe birth defect, was cured after him and his family prayed to Carlo Acutis.

Carlo Acutis is a role model to the youth and his example is already inspiring several young man and woman around the world.
